Helping Your Mood by Helping Your Lips
My goal with Nature's Calming Beauty is to not just start another skincare or body care company. There are a million of those. I would like to integrate the exciting world of Essential Oils, and how they affect us, help us, help our body heal us, and (speaking personally), give us hope for a better life.
That said, my Lip Balms are not just formulated to make your lips soft (but they do), or to taste good (they taste yummy), but to help with a mood or ailment you may be experiencing at the time.

{Calming}
ORANGE DREAM - Vanilla orange, like a nostalgic dream popsicle.
Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Juice Essence, Lavendula augustifolius (Lavender) Oil, & the Vanilla planifolia (Vanilla) Oleoresin infused Jojoba coming through.
Many of the citrus oils are able to lift our spirits. Orange is particularly appealing as a soothing oil for children, so this Lip Balm also harks us back to our childhood, the ice cream truck, and Vanilla/Orange popsicles. Or, maybe, it reminds you of hanging out at the mall with your friends enjoying a certain smooth, orange beverage!
Orange also has the benefit of fighting germs & viruses along with Lavender, which let's face it can help with almost anything. Ickies that make us sick? No problem! Soothing damaged, flaky, and maybe even cracked skin? Absolutely! All while soothing nerves and bringing a sense of calm.
Speaking of calm: Vanilla is also calming and soothing. It is recognized as one of the most comforting scents in the world. (Who doesn't love the cozy, home-baked hint of fresh baking with vanilla?
Overall, this is just a fun, comforting balm!

{Uplifting & Antiviral}
LIME - Refreshing, Energizing Lime Flavor.
Citrus x aurantifolia (Lime) Peel Oil, Steam Distilled (not phototoxic).
& LEMON/LIME - Refreshing, Energizing Lemon/Lime Flavor, like a lemon/lime soda.
Citrus x aurantifolia (Lime) Peel Oil, Steam Distilled (not phototoxic), & Citrus Limon (Lemon) Essence
Lemon & Lime are both bright, clean flavors that can lift us up when we need a bit of help with the afternoon slump. They also have antiviral properties (are we seeing a pattern, here?), so they also help in one of the places where viruses enter most: our mouth. (Duh! Lip Balm!)
for a very important BTW!:
You may have heard about the phototoxic properties of some citrus oils. They enhance the intensity of UV light on our bodies and can cause serious sunburn-type effects on our skin. This is not to be taken lightly, and can cause serious problems in the sun and in tanning beds. I use Lime Oil that has been extracted by Steam Distillation, not pressing the oils out of the rind. This process eliminates the phototoxicity problem and is much safer on the skin.
So - complete side bar - I was searching for a stop sign icon, and came across this beauty after literally typing in "stop sign":
Can rats "read" signs now? Did a lab lose their experimental mice like "The Secret of NIMH"?
As if that wasn't odd enough, I'd hate to have to have this sign go into effect:
Some weird Ghostbusters meets Ninja Turtle Master gone berserk! <Insert Twilight Zone music here> No, no, no, not the vampire/werewolf thing....The Twilight Zo....oh never mind. Some of them will get it.
Okay! To the Blog! Carry on:

{Tummy Trouble}
GINGER MINTY - Mint with a hint of Ginger & Vanilla, a helping hand with nausea, or great for no reason at all.
Mentha x piperita (Peppermint) Oil, Mentha spicata (Spearmint) Oil, & Zingiber officinale (Ginger) Root Extract with a light hint of the Vanilla planifolia (Vanilla) Oleoresin infused Jojoba coming through.
Ahh, mint! Oh Ginger! Thank you for your help when my stomach is majorly pissed off at me. The stomach and digestive tract can get out of whack for a number of reasons. I made this lip balm with my pregnant sister in mind. She also get's motion sick at the drop of a hat. Seriously, the moving sidewalk at the airport can be too much for her. I figured that having one of these little babies in her pocket while she's making a baby, and after, could only help. Threw in a little vanilla to smooth out the mint and add a bit of extra comfort, and Viola! Ginger Minty.
It also just tastes good, so even when you don't have tummy troubles, it's a great balm. The mints are healing and a well rounded flavor and feel keeps your lips soft any ol' time.
